Lee Seung Gi bore the Olympic torch as a runner in the torch relay for the 2012 London Olympics.

On June 23 (Local time), Lee Seung Gi ran with 23 other Koreans in the ′Korean runners′ day′ torch relay held from Lytham St Annes to Manchester in England. Samsung Electronics, the official sponsor for the London Olympics, chose the Korean runners after receiving applications, and Lee Seung Gi ran as the company′s spokesmodel.

The actor ran through Rochdale Stratford Avenue to Manchester Road.

The torch arrived in England from Greece on May 18, and, over 35 days, has traveled half of the 12,874 km total distance. It will travel through downtown London in the last two days before the Olympics and will be stationed at the Olympic Stadium on July 27.
