Actress Yeh Ji Won is apparently all about action films these days.

Yeh, who recently filmed taekwondo film The Kick in Thailand with actor Jo Jae Hyun said, “I want to do move action films in the future.”

The actress revealed her thoughts on the film at a briefing held at the Novotel during the Busan International Film Festival on October 7.

“I got a first-degree black belt while filming this movie,” said Yeh. “I thought taekwondo would be easy because I did dance, but it was harder than I thought. I trained a lot over a long period of time.”

She continued, “I was shocked while filming in Thailand. Thai action stars really put their lives on the line while acting. I felt like I was meeting masters.” Yeh added, “Not just the Thai actors, but Korean actors Na Tae Ju and Tae Mi also did really well.”

“When I go to Korea [after filming wraps up], I’m going to try to get a second-degree black belt,” revealed the actress.

The Kick is a global project about taekwondo directed by Prachya Pinkaew of Ong Bak-fame. Since a three-minute clip of the film was screened at the Cannes International Film Festival in May, a total of 36 countries, including France, Indonesia, Germany, Turkey, India and Taiwan, have picked up the film.

Yeh and Jo star as a master couple who operate a taekwondo studio in Thailand. The supporting cast includes taekwondo athletes and members of national team KTigers Na Tae Ju and Tae Mi, who also display their impressive action skills in the film. The film is slated to be released on November 3.
