Playing a man who has the mentality of a six year old, B1A4’s Baro shared that he watched one of Sammo Hung’s movies to prepare.

On February 27, Baro attended the press conference for SBS’ God’s Gift – 14 Days, which took place at the SBS site in Mokdong.

“Playing Young Gyu as my second project had me worrying a lot as well as my members,” said Baro.

Baro will be playing Ki Young Gyu, a mentally handicapped man in his late teens but with the mental age of six.

“Because he has the mental age of six, I worried about people scowling at my performance if I overreact in my role. So I did a lot of research, and found out I even had a friend in the same situation.”

“Honestly, they’re not that much different from us. The only thing different is the intelligence level, and because they’re so innocent and bright, I was able to act comfortably as Young Gyu and find out that our personalities are actually quite similar.”

“I hope that viewers will view Young Gyu as an adorable kid who is innocent and pure and only look at Saetbyul.”

When asked if he watched any movies with characters similar to his, Baro replied, “The director told us not to, but my father recommended a Chinese movie. It was a move that starred Sammo Hung. The Young Gyu that I thought of and the director thought of were pretty similar, so I only watched that movie and nothing else.”

Meanwhile, God’s Gift – 14 Days is about a mother who time warps to two weeks before to save her daughter, who was kidnapped and murdered. The drama stars Lee Bo Young, Cho Seung Woo, Kim Tae Woo, Jung Gyu Woon, Baro, Secret’s Han Sun Ha, Kim Yoo Bin, and more.

It begins March 3.
