Former Fin.K.L member Lee Hyori drew the attention of viewers with her remark about the reason behind the breakup of most idol groups.

Shinhwa, who is making its comeback after four years, appeared on the April 15 broadcast of SBS’ You and I and brought back old memories with a performance that included its new song, as well several hit songs from the past.

That day MC Hyori said, “It is incredible that [Shinhwa] never had to replace one of its members after all these years. Besides the good quality of the song, the fact that the whole group is still together is amazing in and of itself,” applauding the Shinhwa members who have been together for over 14 years.

Then Jung Jae Hyung asked, “On the contrary, what makes it so difficult for groups to stay together?” Hyori quickly replied, “It is due to the discord between the members. Although most groups say there is another reason for its breakup, the truth is most groups’ breakup are caused by the discord between its members.” Shinhwa members nodded their heads in agreement.

Although Shinhwa has had more disagreements than other groups, the group was able to stay intact thanks to positive attitude of its members. Hyori explained that Shinhwa members aired out their differences instead of holding things in and building up resentment against each other.

In response, Shinhwa members said, “Although we were able to stay together by airing out our differences, that doesn’t mean you should argue over every little thing. Sometimes, an argument can lead to a bigger issue.”

Meanwhile, Dynamic Duo and singer Zitten also appeared on the broadcast of You and I that same day.
