Super Junior’s Kangin Released from Army
Super Junior’s Kangin made a return after finishing his two years of service to the military.
He was released on the morning of April 16 from the army division in Gyeonggi-do’s Namyangju-si.
He was welcomed by Super Junior members Leeteuk, Eunhyuk, Donghae, Ryeowook, Sungmin and Kyuhyun, and showed he was indeed back with a salute to the 500 fans and press members gathered in front of him. He especially shared a hug with the group’s leader Leeteuk, proving their friendship was still strong.
Kangin said, “I can’t believe I’ve been released. The future is more important so that the scars can heal,” expressing his regret for his past faults and his hopes toward a brighter future.
Kangin put a halt to his activities on October 2009 after being involved in a car accident while driving under the influence, and soon after the incident, joined the army. As such, Super Junior continued to be active without members Kangin, Han Geng and Ki Bum. Questions on whether Kangin will be joining the group again now that he’s spent much time in the army reflecting upon himself are arising with his release.
Some outlets have reported that Kangin will immediately be joining Super Junior, but SM Entertainment has been treading carefully, saying that nothing has been confirmed as of yet.
Whether Kangin will be able to join the group in its tour concert Super Show 4 is yet to be seen.
