Ha Ji Won Expresses Thoughts from Her Role for ′Korea′
Actress Ha Ji Won expressed her opinion at having portrayed coach Hyun Jung Hwa for the upcoming movie Korea.
On April 4, Ha was present at the movie’s press conference held at Seoul’s Apgujeong CGV. She shared, “The scenario was extremely moving. As soon as I read through the scenario I shed tears. Though I thought the role wouldn’t be easy, the moving scenario was impactful and I decided to join the movie.”
Reflecting on playing coach Hyun she said, “I was given the role of playing coach Hyun but since we had to make it more cinematic, at first I had no confidence. Also, I had never held a paddle before the movie. This was the most difficult movie to do of all the sports action movies I’ve done. Not only me but the rest of the cast went through so much we suffered injuries on our knees.”
Ha, who is currently starring in the drama The King 2Hearts sported long hair wearing the united uniform from the same movie for the press conference.
Korea centers around the first-ever united, North and South Korean ping pong team in 1991. The 46 day real-life event was portrayed by the actors over the course of 146 days. The movie will premiere in May and also stars Bae Doo Na.
