Nicole Leaves Kara, Kang Ji Young Deliberates Next Move
On October 4, rumors of Kara disbanding began swirling around, causing DSP Media to put out an official statement denying the rumors.
However, by Friday evening, DSP Media officially stated that Nicole will be leaving the group.
As the reasons are sensitive, they have yet to be revealed in full. Her contract will expire in January of 2014.
Goo Hara, Park Gyuri, and Han Seung Yeon have re-signed for another two years with DSP Media.
Kang Ji Young, whose contract expires in April, still has time to carefully consider her decision. It′s said she may be thinking of studying abroad, but nothing has been set in stone.
DSP Media added that despite whatever decision Kang Ji Young makes, Kara will not be disbanding.
Kara debuted in 2007 as a four member group. Former member Kim Sung Hee left the group in 2008. Goo Hara and Kang Ji Young joined soon after. The group previously dealt with possible disbandment in 2011, when four of the five members filed suit against DSP. The dispute was resolved some months later, and KARA continued promoting as a full group, up until the recent release of its fourth studio album, Full Bloom.
