Kim Soo Hyun Tours America for ′Secretly, Greatly′
Kim Soo Hyun wrapped up a successful set of stage events in America, drawing enough attention to get many offers from local major agencies.
The actor arrived in L.A. on July 18, and attended a press roundtable and interview session with local media outlets on July 19, the day before Secretly, Greatly′s premiere.
Press members this day asked Kim Soo Hyun how he felt to have his first film in a lead role premiere in America, as well as about his future plans overseas.
That Secretly, Greatly would be the first Korean film to screen in AMC, the biggest theater chain in America, especially surprised many.
After the press roundtable, the actor then arrived at the Universal CityWalk in Universal Studios to meet his audience and thank them.
On July 20, he went on to tour screens in L.A. and San Diego. Fans in the country had rushed to the theaters, selling out seats to all six stage events, while more fans who weren′t able to get tickets lined up outside the venue to cheer for and welcome Kim Soo Hyun.
The actor pulled through his tight schedule, hoping to meet as many fans as possible.
Many local agencies requested to meet the actor, hinting that overseas promotions may be in store for him.
A local official in Korean film distribution said, "I hope that, starting with the premiere of Kim Soo Hyun′s Secretly, Greatly, there will be more opportunities for Korean films to be screened in major theaters."
Secretly, Greatly is set to premiere in 10 countries around the world, including America, Canada, Taiwan, Japan, Hong Kong/Macau, Malaysia/Brunei and Indonesia. Talks are also on for premieres in China, Vietnam and Thailand.
Kim Soo Hyun plans to attend more events in Hong Kong, and will leave for the city on July 23.
