Child Actors are Coming to the Big Screen: Lee Hyun Woo, Lee Se Young and Jeong In Sun
Former child actors will be in full bloom this spring on the silver screen, as films starring child actors looking to launch full-fledged adult acting careers are lined up for premiers.
Thanks to their well-kept looks and their experience as actors, the child actors have been showing they′re up for a bright future ahead in their attempts to become more known to the world.
Lee Hyun Woo recently escaped child actor status after acting in the younger roles of Uhm Tae Woong, Kim Sang Kyung, Lee Seo Jin and Song Il Kook. He hinted he had become a man in The Equator Man, and soon became a cute boy in To the Beautiful You. Recently, he′s finished preparing to meet the public with the biggest piece of his nine-year career, Be Covert, Be Great.
In the film, which is about North Korean spies, Lee Hyun Woo appears as the youngest spy to be sent to South Korea. He disguises himself as a normal high school student, but he is all strength down to the bone. He will be going back and forth between the charisma as team leader and the boyishness of the young boy who looks up to Won Ryu Hwan (Kim Soo Hyun).
In Scary Story 2, which will premiere in June to become the first horror film of the year, the two actresses Lee Se Young and Jeong In Sun have been drawing interest. The two first debuted as child actors, and were loved for their mature acting.
Lee Se Young appeared in Dae Jang Geum and the films When I Turned Nine and Lovely Rivals, and became known for her perfect beauty. In Scary Story 2, she will be acting in the bridge episode ′444′ as a woman who works at an insurance company and can hear ghosts. She recently teased her new look in stills, showing off her new short hair and piercings.
Jeong In Sun, who was the girl that meets Song Kang Ho in the film Memories of Murder, will act in an episode of Scary Story 2 titled ′Accident′. The section will be about friends who go through extraordinary events after getting involved in a car crash.
A rep working in Chungmuro said, "You′re guaranteed some good acting with child actors. There′s no reason producers and investors would avoid their acting skills and visuals. They′re all looking forward to [the child actors′] feats."
