MBC’s The Sun and the Moon is soaring high with its high viewership ratings and popularity, but the actors are fighting hard to stay awake behind the scenes.

The two leads, Kim Soo Hyun and Han Ga In, are continuing to act diligently, though they′re unable to have a good night’s sleep.

A staff member of The Sun and the Moon said, “Because it’s a traditional drama and on top of that, not much of the script has been finished, the conditions are poor. The leads including Kim Soo Hyun and Han Ga In are suffering because of this.”

The Sun and the Moon started airing on January 4, but started off with only two to three episodes worth of finished scripts. The following scripts up until now haven′t been released on time, and because the drama is a traditional drama, which places many time and location constrictions in place, the actors and staff are left fighting their way through.

Another staff member stated, “The lead actress Han Ga In sleeps about an hour a day. It’s not much different for Kim Soo Hyun. He only sleeps about one to two hours to my knowledge.”

Usually, drama shoots take place in many far-off locations, letting the actors sleep on the road. In the case of The Sun and the Moon, however, the shoots all take place at the set in Mungyeong. The shoots start every Friday morning and end on Thursday afternoon on the following week, leaving almost no time for the actors to take a rest.

A source close to Han Ga In said, “There are many difficulties, but the actors are showing great teamwork and they’re enduring together. It can’t be helped for a good piece.”
