′Flower Boy Band′ Releases Sung Joon′s MV for ′Jaywalking′
Make way listeners because Sung Joon has arrived with a new single and music video for Shut Up: Flower Boy Band.
The song Jaywalking was released on February 13, through CJ E&M Music, and the music video was released the following day on February 14.
Melodic influences by Loveholic member, Lee Jae Ha, are clearly heard in the soft-rock song. As suggested by the song’s title, Jaywalking uses themes of traffic and road rules to convey how a tough guy’s heart is drawing him towards a girl.
“It doesn’t matter if the light is green or red. I don’t need anything else. My heart pulls me towards you,” croons Sung Joon.
His gravelly voice helps elevate the image that the character is exposing a vulnerable side to his love, though the song doesn′t fall into the trap of utilizing dubious and sappy lyrics.
While the music video is just a simple collage of scenes from the drama, the inclusion of Jaywalking in the background of the montage should serve as a great addition in helping fans relive the show’s best and most dramatic moments.
Jaywalking serves as a great motif for the drama, with its themes of youthful rivalry, camaraderie, love, failure, hardships and success.
As the popularity for both the tvN drama Flower Boy Band and its webtoon has steadily grown, attention has also been increasing for the drama’s soundtrack.
Last week, the first track from the drama’s soundtrack, Lee Min Ki’s Not in Love, a remake of the original song sung by Crystal Castles, was released.
The soundtrack for the single contains both the original version as well as an instrumental version and can be heard on Mnet.
The next episode of Flower Boy Band is scheduled for broadcast on February 14 on tvN.
But, in the meantime, watch the music video below.
