Ryu Seung Bum and Ryu Seung Wan Hold Stage Events for ′The Berlin File′
The Ryu Seung Wan, Ryu Seung Bum brothers took it into their hands to tour theaters and thank audiences for their interest in The Berlin File.
Director Ryu Seung Wan, with his little brother, actor Ryu Seung Bum, told a few anecdotes on what happened on set in a few stage events.
Ryu Seung Wan said, "We want to thank those who chose The Berlin File even though it′s in its fourth week. It′s a film in which you can enjoy the actors′ acting. I hope you have fun watching the movie."
Ryu Seung Bum said, "I was surprised after hearing that the film surpassed 6 million and is currently climbing toward 7 million. I believe this score will be the best in my career. I thank you so much."
In a special stage event, hosted by TV personality Kim Tae Hoon, the brothers participated in a talk session that was serious yet managed to draw a few laughs.
On how he came to cast Ryu Seung Bum, Ryu Seung Wan said, "I was curious on how he would appear if I put him in a villain role following his roles in Crying Fist and The Unjust. I came to think I made the right choice. Ryu Seung Bum always shows acting that far exceeds my expectations. I think that′s why I often come to work with him."
On the Dong Myung Soo character, Ryu Seung Bum said, "I believe Dong Myung Soo is a character that isn′t fit in a stereotypical mold, but draws laughter and is made of the weird stuff I imagine evil to be. I have no role model, but there is a figure I′m often influenced by; Jim Carrey of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind."
Director Ryu Seung Wan said on whether he plans to produce a sequel, "There are no plans for a sequel. Those who are most skilled at designing sequels after the conclusion of a film is the audience. I believe what everyone dreams of in their heads after the film′s conclusion is the best sequel of all."
Ryu Seung Bum said when asked whether he′ll ever appear in romance films, "Of course I want to do so. I love romance films. One day I want to put on a face like that and make a director feel, ′So that actor also can put on such faces; I want to draw it out for him.′ Once, I talked with Choi Min Sik sunbae (senior) on when we′ll be able to star in deep romance films."
The Berlin File is currently drawing interest on whether it will be able to follow The Gift of Room 7 in joining the 10 million club as it approaches 7 million.
