Two Months’ Kim Ye Rim Cast in ‘Flower Boy Band’
Two Months member Kim Ye Rim, who has yet to make her official singing debut, will try her hand at acting for the first time in upcoming tvN drama Flower Boy Band.
Kim, who captivated audiences with her sultry voice on Mnet’s Superstar K3, has been cast to play a character based loosely on herself, it seems. She will make her first appearance on the sixth episode of the drama as Kim Ye Rim, a famous 19-year-old singer in Korea.
“We needed someone to play the role of a talented female singer who exudes an aura of mystery in the drama,” said a producer from the drama on how she came to be cast. “Rather than the standard girl group image that has been the trend recently, I was looking for an actress who could bring something new to the table when I met Kim Ye Rim.”
The producer added, “I expected the unique tone of her voice and her mysterious charm would be in harmony, strangely, and produce a synergy with the Easy on the Eyes band.”
The news of Kim’s casting comes after the announcement that new face Jo Bo ah will play the female lead, Soo Ah, in the drama. Jo most recently appeared on general service channel jTBC’s star audition program Made in U.
The unknown actress recently released a video with her Lunar New Year′s greeting, in which she mentioned that she′d been cast in a drama.
If the drama has garnered a lot of interest among women for its pretty boy cast, with Kim now in the mix, we’re sure the men will be tuning in as well.
The first episode of the drama is set to air on January 30 and will revolve around Jo Boa′s character and the relationships between her and the two rival flower boy bands.
