IU-Lee Hyun Woo’s Hugging Scene Cut From MV
Left feeling a little unsatisfied after watching IU′s music video for You and I? That may be because a certain scene was cut from the final product.
Lee Hyun Woo, IU′s male partner in the video, was supposed to hug IU romantically, like normal couples due, but the scene ended up being cut - why? Did the agency think IU was too young to be doing such ′naughty′ (we′re kidding) things?
Nope - evidently, the two just looked too dang awkward!
A representative from IU’s agency explained, “The clip was going to be used as the afterimage reflected on the window in the scene where IU was on a train. But they looked too shy and awkward, so the scene was omitted.”
The still cut and other cuts left out from official music video were uploaded on the singer’s official homepage on December 1 in return for fans’ keen interests in her music video and drew a great deal of responses.
Fans who looked at the still cuts reacted by saying, “Those scenes make me feel embarrassed and awkward,” “It makes me crack up rather than rousing my jealousy,” and “Keep hugging photos from being shown for the sake of many oppa (older brother) and uncle fans.”
IU, whose second album drew fervent responses immediately after its release, will put on a comeback performance on the December 2 broadcast of KBS2’s Music Bank.
