[Interview] Seo In Guk Wants Everyone to Tune In to ′Reply 1997′
Seo In Guk emphasized that everyone should look forward to and tune in for the last episode of tvN′s Reply 1997.
In a recent interview with enews, Seo In Guk refused to spoil the ending, saying, "So many people asked about the ending, but I can′t say anything about it. Even the director didn′t tell me what would happen in the end until I got the last script, so I can′t talk either."
He then added, "Still, there could be a twist so I hope all of you tune in for the episode. TvN never had any dramas pass 6 percent in viewership ratings, but I think Reply 1997 will do it."
In Reply 1997, Seo In Guk plays the role of Yoon Yoon Je, who has eyes only for his childhood friend Sung Si Won (Jung Eun Ji). He had given up confessing his love for Si Won due to his big brother (Song Jong Ho), who also loves Si Won, in order to pay back his brother for giving everything up for his little brother Yoon Je.
On the September 4 broadcast, however, Yoon Je couldn′t hold his feelings back any longer, and finally spilled them in front of Si Won.
The stairway kiss that aired this day got rave reviews from viewers. Everything was said to be perfect, from the angle of Seo In Guk′s legs to Jung Eun Ji′s kiss.
Seo In Guk said about the kiss, "It was a scene in which Yoon Je, who had avoided expressing his love for the past six years, finally got a chance at his first love. It was hard for Yoon Je to gain [Si Won′s] love, so it was hard for me to express those emotions in the kiss."
He then added, "I just put my hand on Eun Ji′s knee to express the pure emotions and past memories behind the kiss and I got goosebumps. The director also said my adlib was perfect, and I learned again that Eun Ji and I are a great match because she picked up my adlib well."
Reply 1997 now only has two episodes left until its conclusion. The drama has been gathering attention as to how the love triangle between Sung Si Won, Yoon Yoon Je and Yoon Tae Woong will be resolved.
The next episode will air on September 11.
