[Poll] Which K-Drama Leading Lady Makes the Best Man?

Rating Rating more Three Stars

2012.08.28 18:00 CJ E&M enewsWorld Nancy Lee

The K-Drama world may be teeming with pretty boy actors, but they may need to watch out because some leading ladies are giving the boys a run for their money.

To the Beautiful You is the latest drama to take on gender bending, as female lead Sulli pretends to be a boy, but it’s not the first time we’ve seen pretty women switch it up in front of the camera.

From donning boy cuts to appearing on TV (relatively) makeup-less, these girls mean business when it comes to playing the not-so-girly part.

They’re out to prove that they can do it like the boys, but for this week’s poll, we want to know which actress you think does it the best.

[Poll] Which K-Drama Leading Lady Makes the Best Man?

Sulli

Sulli of f(x) is the latest starlet to chop off her long locks to get into her gender bending role as Koo Jae Hee on SBS drama To the Beautiful You.

The girl group member may be all smiles, but that′s not to say it was an easy decision for Sulli—or the drama’s director, for that matter—but we have high hopes for the drama.

We think the adorable Sulli is just as charming as a boy, but do you?

[Poll] Which K-Drama Leading Lady Makes the Best Man?

Yun Eun Hye

Yun Eun Hye was so convincing in her role as the tomboyish Go Eun Chan, whom many mistakenly presume to be a boy, in the 2007 MBC drama Coffee Prince, we almost forgot she was a former girl group member.

Not only did Yun Eun Hye hack off her hair for the role, she previously stated that she frequented karaoke rooms and sang until her voice gave out in order to play up the character’s boyish traits.

We’re not sure how Yun Eun Hye’s vocal trainer from her Baby V.O.X days would have felt about that, but the singer-turned-actress’ dedication to her role certainly paid off as the popular drama served to make Yun Eun Hye a household name.

And if it seems more girls are willing to take on mannish roles, we probably have Yun Eun Hye to thank for that as she was one of the first starlets of our generation to trudge through the unfamiliar territory of…being a boy.

[Poll] Which K-Drama Leading Lady Makes the Best Man?

Park Shin Hye

Park Shin Hye followed suit with character Go Mi Nam on 2009 SBS drama You’re Beautiful.

This isn’t to say Park Shin Hye didn’t hold her own in the drama, as she was doing double duty, pretending to be her twin brother Go Mi Nam when she wasn’t playing the girl Go Mi Nyu.

And any actress who can stand out among pretty boy costars Jang Keun Suk, Lee Hong Gi and Jung Yong Hwa is certainly worthy of our attention.

[Poll] Which K-Drama Leading Lady Makes the Best Man?

Moon Geun Young

Before the popular You’re Beautiful, there was 2008 SBS drama Painter of the Wind, starring Moon Geun Young.

Moon Geun Young played Shin Yun Bok, a talented young painter who disguises herself as a boy in order to uncover the truth behind her father’s death.

The role earned Moon Geun Young top honors at the SBS Drama Awards, as well as the Best TV Actress Award at the Paeksang Arts Awards in the same year.

[Poll] Which K-Drama Leading Lady Makes the Best Man?

Park Min Young

Finally, we can’t leave out Park Min Young for her performance as Kim Yun Hee/Kim Yun Shik in 2010 KBS drama Sungkyunkwan Scandal.

The drama was recognized not only for actors Park Yoo Chun’s, Song Joong Ki’s and Yoo Ah In’s performances, but Park Min Young was awarded the Best Actress award at the KBS Drama Awards for her role.

We think it′s safe to say Park Min Young can do it like the boys.

So, who makes the best man? Vote in our poll below!
