Gong Hyo Jin Opens about her Break Up With Ryu Seung Bum
After ending her relationship of 10 years with Ryu Seung Bum, Gong Hyo Jin opened up about her break up and also dating scandal.
Gong Hyo Jin arrived at the press conference at the CGV in Wangsimli, Seoul for her recent movie, 577 Project, where she talked about her break up with Ryu Seung Bum and scandal with Ha Jung Woo.
When she was asked, Gong Hyo Jin began with, “It’s finally here.” She continued, “I heard about [the dating rumors with Ha Jung Woo] endlessly. It’s definitely not true. I’m the type of person who looks good next to anyone, so I’m guessing that’s where it started. This isn’t Hollywood and there’s a thing called business ethics. Right now, Ha Jung Woo and Ryu Seung Bum are filming the movie Berlin together. Do I have to go out of my way and date Ha Jung Woo?”
Gong Hyo Jin added, “It wasn’t a bad break up with Ryu Seung Bum, and just the wanting of rest after dating for 10 years. It wasn’t to end all connections with each other."
“There are a lot of people upset about what happened with Ryu Seung Bum. I apologize for upsetting you but the two of us are doing well. I hope that there are no more speculations about this. Ryu Seung Bum and I are both single at this point.”
About being at the press conference with Ha Jung Woo, the actress said, “I wanted to be able to say this with Ha Jung Woo present that I personally revealed the truth about our break up a couple of days before this event. I thought since this movie wasn’t a melodrama, the timing wouldn’t be bad either.”
Meanwhile, the movie 577 Project was created after Ha Jung Woo promised at the 2011 Paeksang Arts Awards that if he wins an award, he will take his trophy and walk across the country. Ha Jung Woo ended up winning for best actor award for his movie The Yellow Sea.
577 Project is about Ha Jung Woo’s journey and is a variety/documentary film.
Ha Jung Woo personally produced it and Gong Hyo Jin joined him on this trip, along with 16 unique actors, who all walked 57 kilometers from Seoul to Haenam.
577 Project will premiere on August 30.
