Kang Ho Dong Announces Return by Signing with SM C&C
After almost a year of self-reflection, Kang Ho Dong has finally hinted at his return by signing a new exclusive contract with SM C&C.
SM C&C announced through press releases on August 17 that it ‘signed exclusive contracts with Kang Ho Dong and Shin Dong Yeop.’
With his new contract, Kang Ho Dong plans to return to broadcasting within the year.
Kang Ho Dong announced his retirement after getting his tax evasion scandal on September 9, 2011. Many rumors surfaced after that about his return, but this time he’s made it official that he will be coming back with his contract. The news comes exactly 359 days after his retirement.
Kang Ho Dong said, “I’ve thought a lot about it since last year, but I decided that the best way for me to go is to try to deliver more joyfulness to the Nation’s people through broadcasts as an MC, and so I decided to carefully make my comeback.”
Kim Young Min, head of SM C&C, said, “The signing of Korea’s biggest MCs Kang Ho Dong and Shin Dong Yeop with SM C&C is meaningful in that the company has built a foundation on which to produce a variety of broadcasts. We will manage the two MCs so that they become the best entertainers not only in Korea, but also in Asia.”
