Lee Jung Jae Still Calls Jung Woo Sung ‘Woo Sung-ssi’
Lee Jung Jae says that though on the outside they may not look it, he is the best of friends with fellow actor Jung Woo Sung.
On the October 22 broadcast of O’live’s Bad Scene, Lee said that he still uses titles to address his 13 year friend, Jung Woo Sung. He said that he’s never called Jung Woo Sung just by his name without a title, and that he still calls him “Woo Sung-ssi.”
The two met in the 1998 film, City Of The Rising Sun, as they were both cast to act as best friends. After the film, the two (surprise!) actually became very close friends. Lee said, “At the time people told us to become friends quickly, just like the characters. But then I didn’t want to do something just because everyone else told me to do it. So I kept the title, and we still call each other ‘Woo Sung-ssi’ and ‘Jung Jae-ssi’.”
Despite the distant title, he expressed he had deep affection for Jung Woo Sung, saying, “Calling him like that didn’t make us distant, but we could actually keep our respect for each other and deepen our friendship. We have great faith in each other and think of each other as family.”
In this broadcast, Lee Jung Jae also talked about love and marriage, participated in a wine test, and also held a Kakao Talk conversation with a viewer on TV.
