Kim Jae Won Drops Out of ′Me Too, Flower!′

Kim Jae Won, the main lead of MBC’s upcoming drama Me Too, Flower! , has officially dropped out after being injured on set.

Kim Jae Won dislocated his shoulder while filming the first episode of the drama on October 4. Along with fractures, he tore his ligament and cartilage in his shoulder, which requires three to four weeks of rest.

He announced in a statement through his agency on October 14, “After talking with MBC, I decided to drop out of the drama. I’m sorry to have caused you so much concern over whether I would continue to act in the drama or not.”

“After taking into consideration the doctor′s orders and the status of production, I determined that I wouldn’t be able to take on the role,” added Kim Jae Won. “I promise to return with a new drama after being treated.”

Kim Jae Won also stated, “Even though I can’t continue to be apart of the drama due to this accident, spending time with the director, writer, and great castmates was most memorable to me. I hope Me Too, Flower! will do great and I hope that I can have a chance to work with them again. Please continue to support Me Too, Flower!"

Meanwhile, the production crew of the drama released a statement on October 14, “We have been discussing whether Kim Jae Won will be able to act with his current condition. We couldn’t waste our time in making a final decision, as the drama will air November 2.”

The statement continued, “We concluded that the dislocation of his shoulder and ligament injury requires rest and a timely surgery. Most of all, we have to place top priority on the safety and health of the cast. At the same time, we also have the responsibility to promise viewers a drama on time.”

“We feel deeply responsible for the unforeseen accident, and delivered our regrets to the actor and his agency,” the statement continued. “We have reached a final agreement that we will work together in the future."

"We would like to express our regrets and gratitude to Kim Jae Won one more time. The production crew will determine the replacement of Kim Jae Won soon and move forward with the production of drama. We’ll make an announcement on who will replace him later.”

The production cast has been discussing over the replacement of Kim Jae Won and are currently considering many actors, including Yoon Shi Yoon.
