[Interview] Lee Hong Gi Once Told N.Flying to Lure in FT Island Fans
Following FT Island and CN Blue, FNC Entertainment unveiled a third boy band, N.Flying. After a very long training period, Lee Seung Hyub (Vocal,Rap), Kwon Kwang Jin (Bass), Cha Hun(Guitar) and Kim Jae Hyun (Drums) are finally promoting their own unique sound.
They might be very fresh rookies, but their talents and skills don′t fall short. They′ve stood as the opening act for several of FT Island and CN Blue′s concerts and have already released two single albums in Japan, which rose to second place of the Oricon Indie charts and first place of the World Charts. On top of that, N.Flying has stepped forward into the music industry with the advice of its band seniors.
In a recent interview with Newsen, Kim Kwang Jin said, "We once stood as the opening act of FT Island sunbaenims. When we were waiting backstage ahead of the performance, Lee Hong Gi sunbaenim always told good things. To Seung Hyub, he said he wants to see more playing on stage. He said it′s okay to take all of his fans and told us to lure them in."
Kim Jae Hyun added, "When we do family concerts, all the artists of the company come out. At rehearsal, the sunbaenims always carefully check everything and help us with each of our instruments."
However, as the third band from FNC Entertainment, N.Flying definitely needed a different color from FT Island and CN Blue.
"When we were living in Japan on our own, we were searching for a breakthrough. I think we are finding our color and shape," said Kim Jae Hyun.
Lee Seung Hyub continued, "I think our beats are definitely greater. The sunbaenims are stronger in terms of melody, but because we rap more, our beats are stronger when it comes to the rhythm line."
"FT Island sunbaenims have more melodies with rock, while CN Blue sunbaenims focus more on modern and simple songs. Our music has a trendy and stylish feel to it. We think we′re a band with strong energy that you can enjoy and play together with," said Kwon Kwang Jin.
N.Flying had its first stage through Mnet′s M COUNTDOWN on May 21 with Awesome and One and Only, meeting fans for the first time.
The title song Awesome is a hip-hop based song with a refreshing rhythm and strong guitar sounds.
