Though he’s the leader of one of K-Pop’s most popular idol group now, Super Junior’s Leeteuk didn’t originally intend to be a singer.

In a recent appearance on KBS’ Do Dream, Leeteuk appeared in the show’s ‘Soul Food’ segment and talked about his high school days.

In the corner, Leeteuk shared on how the popular quiz program Golden Bell once came to his school to film along with former announcer Sohn Mina.

After asking her for her autograph, Sohn Mina asked the future-singer what he wanted to be later in life in which Leeteuk then confidently replied, “I want to become a news announcer.”

Explaining why he didn’t end up becoming a news announcer Leeteuk said, “Because my grades went down after that, I had to give up my dreams as a news announcer.”

He humorously added though, “But if I had become an announcer, Jun Hyun Moo would not have been at KBS,” suggesting he would have taken the popular news announcer’s position.
