JYP to Take Legal Action Regarding Cancellation of 2PM and GOT7′s MV Filming
It looks like 2PM′s comebacks will be pushed back.
On May 11, JYP Entertainment issued an official statement on its website, explaining that the two music video companies that were in charge of creating 2PM and GOT7′s upcoming new music videos both pulled out of production without warning.
2PM was originally scheduled to release a new album on June 1.
The following is the full statement.
Hello, this is JYP Entertainment.
We received a one-sided notification four days before filming that production will stop, saying "Due to the relationship with an artist that will be coming out at the same time, the filming cannot take place," from Dextor-Lab′s director Han Sa Min, who has agreed to work on 2PM′s music video, which is scheduled to be released June 1.
On the same day, director Kim Ji Yong of Fantasy Lab, who was in charge of GOT7′s music video production, suddenly gave the same notification that production will halt.
Due to the irresponsible actions of the above, the promotional schedules of the artists, who have set schedules with difficulty due to busy activities in and outside of the country, had to be completely redone from music video planning, filming, album release date, to marketing promotions.
Regarding this, the agency plans on taking strict legal action for the losses that the agency and its artists will face due to the irresponsible actions of the two production companies that cannot be understood.
As we know very well that fans have been waiting, we want to sincerely apologize for the postponement of the release dates. and we promise to work hard in the future to make sure something like this does not occure again.
