There were a lot of revelations this week, one for each character involved in the love triangle. Everyone does a bit of thinking and growing up, but no one seems very happy or satisfied with it.

We guess that’s just what happens when you grow older into an adult. The level of happiness goes down, while responsibility rises.

[RECAP: Big] Episodes 9 & 10 – “How many points would that be?

Despite all the seriousness that arose due to the big secret that was revealed, episodes 9 and 10 of KBS’ Big still carried its hilarious moments when our favorite characters acted like huge, whiny babies.

[RECAP: Big] Episodes 9 & 10 – “How many points would that be?

Kang Kyung Joon (Gong Yoo)

Kang Kyung Joon is 19-years-old and technically considered an adult in the U.S. (20 is the legal age in Korea) but we love that he turns into a five-year old when he’s feeling even slightly jealous.

When their honeymoon to China is abruptly interrupted due to Kang Kyung Joon’s five-second journey back into his own body, Gil Da Ran (Lee Min Jung) says that it’s a good thing they didn’t go to China and had a fun and heart-fluttering honeymoon. She then stutters that it would have been heart-fluttering only because Kang Kyung Joon had Seo Yoon Jae’s face.

Almost immediately, Kang Kyung Joon turns into a big green monster and says, “Yeah, because if our bodies switched, you would have been so happy with Seo Yoon Jae on the Great Wall of China.”

When Gil Da Ran tries to explain what she meant and that she would have worried about Kang Kyung Joon more, Kang Kyung Joon refuses to listen in jealousy and ditches Gil Da Ran in the parking lot before driving away.

But once he gets home, he takes out a large picture of the Great Wall of China and draws a picture of Gil Da Ran and himself, standing on the Wall and holding hands.

After all of his adorable self-muttering sweet things about himself and his teacher, he realizes that she wouldn’t be smiling because of him, but because of Seo Yoon Jae and quickly adds a frown to his stick figure image.

Despite all of their bickering and fights, Kang Kyung Joon learns his lessons through Bunny and Teddy Bear in the pediatric ward and goes to make up with Gil Da Ran.

Also, when he’s having dinner with Gil Da Ran’s parents, Kang Kyung Joon tries to defame Seo Yoon Jae’s name, by saying, “Don’t put Seo Yoon Jae on a pedestal. He’s not that’s great. After buying a house, he doesn’t have any money and his pay is not that much. And all he does is loiter around with kids and he’ll never be the doctors you see on dramas. He’s really not that great.”

When Jang Ma Ri (Suzy) insists that he needs to find his dad because he’s being too burdensome on Gil Da Ran, Kang Kyung Joon starts taking up house chores to make sure that Gil Da Ran won’t feel too swamped to want to leave.

After Gil Da Ran nags at him to stop being a picky-eater over beans, Kang Kyung Joon hesitantly eats them, swallowing them one by one with water as if they were pills.

Gil Da Ran (Lee Min Jung)

As she starts growing more and more affection towards Kang Kyung Joon in her fiancé/husband’s body, Gil Da Ran seems to become more and more like a child.

In the same scenario about going to China with Kang Kyung Joon, as the adult in the conversation, she could have dropped the subject, but instead, she doesn’t step down and bickers back at Kang Kyung Joon and says, “Yeah, I would have been completely crazy to go on my honeymoon with you.”

She then stomps away with her suitcase in hand.

And where does she go?

[RECAP: Big] Episodes 9 & 10 – “How many points would that be?

To the jimjilbang or public bathhouse, where her entire family happens to be there as well.

You would think that if she was going to go into hiding, she would have gone to a jimjilbang that was farther away from her neighborhood.

Instead, she has to lie and run away from her little brother in high school.

When Jang Ma Ri switches tickets with Gil Da Ran to go watch a performance with Kang Kyung Joon, Gil Da Ran is immediately disappointed and upset, but she remains hopeful that Kang Kyung Joon will somehow find his way back to her.

When he really does show up at the movies, she thoughtlessly blurts out, “It’s strange… Why am I so happy that you came?” then begins stuttering and bumbling away like a little girl who made her first love confession.

As Kang Kyung Joon starts taking away all her house chores to lift the burden of taking care of him, instead of feeling less burdened, Gil Da Ran starts feeling more sad as she tells herself, “Kang Kyung Joon doesn’t need me anymore,” and begins to pout.

Also, while it was very un-adult of her to gift her co-workers with stuffed panda bears, whose spots were colored in with permanent black markers, it did add for a cute moment between Gil Da Ran and Kang Kyung Joon.

Lastly, can′t forget about that great teacher moment when Gil Da Ran the high school teacher decides to plagiarize Seo Yoon Jae’s essay about ‘Why I Wanted to Become a Doctor′ by just changing ‘Doctor’ to ‘Teacher′.

Jang Ma Ri (Suzy)

Still quirky as ever, Jang Ma Ri continues her crazy antics, but also comes to some very important realizations.

[RECAP: Big] Episodes 9 & 10 – “How many points would that be?

After Gil Da Ran and Kang Kyung Joon/Seo Yoon Jae get married, Jang Ma Ri has a moment to herself, indirectly assuring Kang Kyung Joon that although Kang Kyung Joon’s current body is married to Gil Da Ran, he’ll forever be married with her in her heart.

Then she proceeds to breaking into Kang Kyung Joon’s house (Again. They really need to work on the security system for that house) and claims an entire room to herself, decorating each wall with something that proclaims the love between Kang Kyung Joon and Jang Ma Ri, starting with posters and even pillows of the two photoshopped together.

Jang Ma Ri pretends to be sick while in the house and slowly starts leaving personally belongings, believing, “If I use this room like mine, it’ll become mine.”

However, when Jang Ma Ri gets rejected by Kang Kyung Joon and finds out that he went to watch the movies with Gil Da Ran, she asks herself, “If someone’s willing to watch a movie he didn’t want to watch with someone, that means he likes her?”

When Gil Choong Sik (Baek Sung Hyun) replies, “It’s definitely not 0. If you said you’ll watch a movie with me, I would be at around 80 points?” Jang Ma Ri realizes Kang Kyung Joon’s feelings for her are only at 20 points.

Again, when she witnesses Kang Kyung Joon forcefully eating beans, she asks, “If he’s willing to eat food that he hates, then how many points would that be?”

Gil Choong Sik replies, “90.” And Jang Ma Ri gets sad that now she’s only worth 10 points to Kang Kyung Joon.

But that still doesn’t bring her completely down in acting like her lover/stalker, which we definitely prefer.

Gil Choong Sik (Baek Sung Hyun)

Gil Choong Sik didn’t have a lot of screen time this week, perhaps due to the big role he played in last week’s episodes, but he still had his moments where he cracked us up with his adorable dorkiness.

When he spots a woman who looks exactly like his sister, Gil Choong Sik actually has a smart moment, when he puts two and two together and begins chasing after Gil Da Ran.

[RECAP: Big] Episodes 9 & 10 – “How many points would that be?

Unfortunately for Gil Choong Sik, Gil Da Ran heads straight into the women’s dressing room, and Gil Choong Sik scrambles out, holding his eyes and screaming, “I SAW SOMETHING I SHOULDN’T HAVE!”

His parents see what he’s done and his mom scolds him severely saying, “I tried to understand you and your porn, but this is too much!” Gil Choong Sik tries to explain what happened, but they don’t listen.

Poor Choong Sik. He’s even disregarded by his own parents.

[RECAP: Big] Episodes 9 & 10 – “How many points would that be?

Gil Choong Sik continues to only look towards Jang Ma Ri and when she tries to cancel a whole lot of pizza pies at once, he gets defensive and tells her, “Cancel one pie at a time after thinking very carefully.”

After they witness Kang Kyung Joon forcefully swallowing beans and Jang Ma Ri asks what that means, Gil Choong Sik smiles at Jang Ma Ri and says, “For you, I can eat carrots even though I hate them.”

We really want some happiness happening to Gil Choong Sik because he’s so optimistic despite all the times Jang Ma Ri has rejected and pushed him away.

But the porn collection has got to go.

Biggest Baby of the Week: Kang Kyung Joon

We love it when Kang Kyung Joon becomes jealous because it reminds us that it is a 19-year old stuck in a 30-year old’s body, which is especially shown when Kang Kyung Joon is sitting at the dining room table and drawing stick figures of himself and Gil Da Ran holding hands.

The more he spends time with Gil Da Ran, Kang Kyung Joon becomes a bigger baby, mostly because she’s babying him and he’s completely enjoying it, since he’s lost the person who used to do that for him.

Perhaps the reason why Gil Da Ran is slowly showing feelings for him is because she’s going with her motherly instincts and taking care of Kang Kyung Joon. (Although, it’s a bit weird to think of Gil Daran as Kang Kyung Joon’s mother, or even girlfriend)

All in all, we think it’s awesome to see a full-grown man act like a baby, especially when it’s Gong Yoo doing it.
