Although it was his birthday on April 8, SHINee′s Jonghyun turned the attention to Sewol Ferry victims instead.

On April 9, Jonghyun tweeted, "I received birthday wishes from many people. Thank you. To be able to share something is a very grateful thing. With that in mind, I want to share something with you. Everyone probably has not forgotten about the Sewol Ferry tragedy. There are some students from Danwon high school who share the same birthday as me."

"Park Ji Yoon and Kim Gun Woo′s birthdays were April 8. It′s a day late... but if you send a free text to #1111, it will show up on the electronic display at the Ansan group memorial altar. Please remember the children."

"They′re kids that I never talked to or even made eye contact with, but my heart still aches and feels empty. These are kids that breathed the same air as us. We shouldn′t forget about them. For those kids. For the people left behind. For our future."

April 16 marks the first anniversary since the Sewol Ferry tragedy in 2014, which took more than 300 lives, mostly high school students.
