S.E.S., DBSK, Big Bang Support Musicals and Celeb Friends
Musicals these days have been drawing crowds of celebrities thanks to their celebrity casts.
U-Know Yunho and Park Soo Jin were recently caught watching a performance of the musical Finding Mr. Destiny, but they weren’t the only celebrities to watch the musical as members of the audience.
Actress So Yoo Jin, who starred in the musical early this year, invited Son Dambi, Horan, S.E.S.’s Eugene and Bada and comedian Lee Dong Woo.
U-Know Yunho had been invited to the show by his best friend Kang Dong Ho, and even brought his friend Park Soo Jin along. Finding Mr. Destiny is a romantic musical about first love, and is the original behind the film that starred Gong Yoo and Im Soo Jung.
As more actors and singers have made their way into theater and musicals, they’ve been inviting their top star friends for an unexpected new marketing strategy. Other musicals have also shown a similar trend.
The play Kisaragi had Ock Ju Hyun drop in on June 23 to support actor Lee Yul, whom she acted together with in the musical Guys and Dolls.
The performance also brought in the musical top star Chung Sung Hwa for his best friend Jung Sang Hoon, and the miss A members stopped by last year for actor Kim Nam Jin.
Big Bang’s Seungri supported actor Jung Won Yeong, whom he befriended through the musical Sonagi, by visiting the musical Street Life.
The ‘VIP Day’ event for the musical Man of La Mancha, to take place on June 30, will also be featuring many top stars such as Kim Yun Jin, the Kim Sung Eun and Jung Jo Gook couple, announcer Park Ji Yoon, Um Ji Won, Yoo Sun, Park Tam Hee, So Yoo Jin, Kim Jung Eun, Kim Ah Joong, Song Chang Ui and singer Ailee.
