Girls’ Generation Goes Global with ‘The Boys’
Girls’ Generation will be spreading the Korean wave to the world by releasing its new album not only in the Asian regions, but also in America.
The group will be releasing in America a maxi single of The Boys in November through Interscope Records, a major album label under Universal Music Group. The label has released albums by such prominent pop singers as Lady Gaga, Eminem and the Black Eyed Peas.
Universal Music Group will also be covering not only the American release of the album, but also its worldwide release, including releases in Europe and South America. The album is even more awaited than before by fans, as it was suddenly postponed past its initial release date, October 4.
Much will be happening on the newly confirmed ‘Girls’ Generation Day’ of October 14, as not only will the group’s third studio album in Korea, but The Boys will also be released worldwide on iTunes, and the song’s music video will be revealed through SM’s official Youtube channel and Facebook page.
The Boys is a piece written by one of the world’s top 3 producers Teddy Riley, who previously produced for Michael Jackson, and is expected to charm global music fans with its stylish beat, sound and melody.
As SM Entertainment singers have already been taking big steps with its successful performances in France and Asia, where this new global direction will take Girls’ Generation’s worldwide fame is highly anticipated.
Girls’ Generation will start promoting its new album on October 21 in Korea with a performance on KBS2’s Music Bank.
