Lee Soo Hyuk Says He Received More Acting Opportunities After Gaining Weight

Going from top model to acknowledged actor, Lee Soo Hyuk shared his acting philosophy.

In a time when model-turned-actors is the trend, Lee Soo Hyuk is also growing as a confident actor with a strong presence. After completing his most recent drama, tvN′s Valid Love, as Kim Jun, Lee Soo Hyuk met with Elle, sharing about what happened after the drama′s end.

It was clear to see that Lee Soo Hyuk had gained more weight and his physique had gotten better compared to the days when he was called ′model Lee Soo Hyuk.′

Regarding this, Lee Soo Hyuk answered, "Gaining weight made me look more normal, and due to that, the chances of me approaching different roles have grown."

Lee Soo Hyuk successfully pulled off his character, Kim Jun, who fell in love with a married woman (Lee Si Young) in Valid Love, which ended on February 13.

"Of all the projects that I′ve done so far, this character needed the most filming and required me to become emotionally immersed, so I can′t say there were no difficulties," said Lee Soo Hyuk, revealing the efforts and affection he poured into his character.

Turning 26 years old in 2015, Lee Soo Hyuk said he′s currently working hard to become a great man by the time he′s 30. Up until now, he knew what his goals were and didn′t feel the need for speed, but it appears that Lee Soo Hyuk is slowly searching for the right pace for himself.

"I began to have some greed as well as a bit of impatience. As I received success, I gained confidence and felt enjoyment as well. So, I′m saying that I′m going to work more," said Lee Soo Hyuk, showing confidence in his career.
