Lee Hyun Woo Opens Up About Acting, Kim Woo Bin and Romantic Projects
With his movie The Technicians currently in theaters, Lee Hyun Woo sat down for an interview with Newsen.
With more than 2 million views for The Technicians, Lee Hyun Woo had a change in character as the genius hacker, Jong Bae with a smoking habit and finger tattoos.
On his film′s character, Lee Hyun Woo said, "I was a bit disappointed after watching the movie. I thought that Jong Bae′s lines and way of speaking that came out from moment to moment had a splattering feeling. I′m not very generous to myself, so I wished that I had done better."
Meeting Kim Woo Bin once again following To the Beautiful You, Lee Hyun Woo shared, "Apart from experience, Woo Bin hyung has this kind of charm that I don′t have, so I learned a lot. I kept a close watch on his passion and effort to work hard. Not just actor Kim Woo Bin, but person Kim Woo Bin is very charming. Also, the mood setter on the set was Go Chang Seok sunbaenim. He always brought the mood up."
Born in 1993, Lee Hyun Woo is still a young actor in his early 20s, but he already has 10 years of acting experience. He′s appeared in The Legend, King Sejong the Great, Queen Seondeok, and more as the child actor of top stars, as well as Master of Study, Glove, Gyebaek, Man from the Equator, To the Beautiful You, Secretly Greatly, and more, taking the role of supporting actor. With his continuous activities, he has broken the jinx of child actors and easily transitioned into becoming an adult actor.
Known for his well-mannered lifestyle, Lee Hyun Woo said, "My parents always emphasized the rules of etiquette. Even when I walked around my neighborhood, I was taught to bow 90 degrees to people I didn′t know. My father always told me this the most. Although my family background was strict, they allowed me to freely do what I wanted to do."
Awaiting the movie Battle of Yeonpyeong, which is based on the true story of the gunfire between North and South Korean military on Yeonpeyong island, Lee Hyun Woo confessed that he does want to take on a sweet and romantic project.
"Of course, I want to do romance. I want to draw out an innocent and fresh love story. I don′t care if I work with someone older or younger than me. I′m curious as to how it would be to work with actresses."
