BTOB Minhyuk Breaks 15-Year Old Vaulting Record on ′Dream Team′
BTOB′s Lee Min Hyuk has broken yet another record, proving himself to be an athletic-dol once again.
On the December 14 broadcast of KBS′ Dream Team, Lee Min Hyuk set a new record by jumping over a vault of 2 meters and 75 centimeters. The previous record was set by Jo Sung Mo in 1999.
After being scouted by coach Yoo Ock Ryul for the Strongest of the Strongest competition, Lee Min Hyuk has practiced jumping over the vault with ease. In an interview ahead of breaking the record, Lee Min Hyuk confidently stated, "I came here to set a new record."
Following the broadcast, Lee Min Hyuk tweeted a photo of a cake, shaped like a vault, that was sent in by the staff of Dream Team. He wrote, "Dream Team sent me such a pretty present, ′The Vault King Cake.′ It′s an honor to have my name etched in a honorable record. The reason why I was able to continue strong even in harsh conditions is because of Melodys."
Setting a new record in 15 years, Lee Min Hyuk receieved the ′Vault King Cake,′ which has seven different colors of the vault as well as a little miniature Lee Min Hyuk and the record of 2 meters and 75 centimeters added to it.
Despite being busy with BTOB′s upcoming winter special album as well as its Japanese debut, Lee Min Hyuk has continously practiced jumping the vault, pushing the Dream Team staff to create the cake.
Lee Min Hyuk already holds several records as an athletic-dol, proving to have the athleticism of a national athlete by winning five times in the idol Iron Man competition on Dream Team, as well as winning the gold medal in the 60 meter dash, men′s high jump, futsal, and more on MBC′s Idol Star Athletics Championship, even becoming an MVP.
Meanwhile, BTOB pre-released the song You Can Cry on December 22 with a winter special album on the way.
