Boyfriend Ranks First on Japan’s Western Music Weekly Oricon Chart

Rookie group Boyfriend has placed first on an Oricon chart.

On June 20, Star Ship Entertainment revealed Boyfriend’s limited edition album We are ‘Boyfriend’, released in Japan on June 6, had placed first on Oricon’s Western Music Weekly chart.

Starship Entertainment shared, “Despite many Japanese fans already having copies of Boyfriend’s Korean album, the fact Boyfriend has placed first on the Western Music weekly chart shows their widespread and growing popularity.”

Boyfriend recently made headlines for joining the same agency, Bing, as famous Japanese artists such as B’z, Zard and Kuraki Mai.

On June 30, Boyfriend will begin its Budokan showcases titled, First Date with Boyfriend in Japan.

On August 22, the group will release its debut single Kimiwo Hanasanai: I Won’t Lose You.
