After School’s Nana Cast in Chinese Drama ‘Empress’ Man’
After School’s Nana has been cast in a Chinese drama.
Nana, who was the first Korean to appear on the Chinese variety program Muse Dress, has been cast in Hunan TV’s drama Empress’ Man (tentative title) set to air in February of next year.
Empress’ Man is a drama being co-produced by CJ E&M and Chun Ho Media to air through Hunan TV as a mini series drama. It is a drama about love and adventure of an actress living in the present time and a scholar from the ancient Han dynasty, traveling through 2,000 years of time and space. It will begin filming in December and air the first episode in February.
With many established Chinese actors and actresses cast, Nana will be the only Korean to star in the drama and the entire scripts have been written in Chinese.
Pledis, Nana’s agency, stated, “We’re happy that Nana will be participating in this project. As Nana will be challenging herself as an actress for the first time, she is optimistic and is highly anticipating her participation in this project. She has strong desire to act on top of singing. As the entire scripts have been written in Chinese, she also prepared a lot.”
On top of being cast in Empress’ Man, Nana currently appears on SBS’s Roommate and has been promoting actively in Korea and China.
