Kim Ha Neul Cast as Lead in Korean-Chinese Film ‘Making Family’

Kim Ha Neul will be starring in the Korean-Chinese film Making Family.

Kim Ha Neul has been receiving love calls from China for many years, but she will be making her first appearance in a Chinese film through the project.

Making Family is about an independent career woman, who doesn’t want a husband but dreams of having her own family and a free spirited man, who has no interest in marriage or family, becoming family through expected turn of events.

In the film, Kim Ha Neul will be acting out documentary producer ‘Go Mi Yeon,’ transforming into the passionate, challenging and faithful character.

Aarif Rahman, who won the Best New Performer award at the Hong Kong Film Awards in 2010, has been cast as the male lead, acting opposite Kim Ha Neul. Aarif Rahman recently acted in the popular romantic comedy One Night Surprise along with Fan Bingbing, rising to top star status. It has been reported that famous Chinese actors and actresses will be cast for the other roles as well.

Kim Ha Neul said, “More than anything, I liked the warmth that I could feel in this movie and I think that the character ‘Mi Yeon’ will be able to show charming sides of Korean women to the Chinese audience.”

A movie affiliate shared, “I think Kim Ha Neul is the actress who can best depict the character in our movie. Kim Ha Neul will be able to leave an impression as Korea’s muse to Chinese people through this movie.”

Meanwhile, Making Family will be filmed in Korea and China and the filming will begin in China in November.
