With the rising success of Big Bang’s newest song, Monster, Big Bang has been deemed worthy of competition with global star, Katy Perry (or, Katy Perry was found worthy of battling it out with Big Bang).

Pop Dust, a news website that focuses on various kinds of popular music, included Big Bang’s Monster against Katy Perry’s Wide Awake in its weekly Pop Off.

Pop Off is a music poll where “two songs enter, but only one will be crowned this week′s most awesome new track” as voted by the fans. The winner of the week will then have a chance to move onto next round with a new challenger.

Pop Dust described the Korean idol group as, “the international pop sensation behind over a half-dozen #1s in their home country, and currently rocketing up Billboard′s Social 50 chart in the States."

Currently as of June 13, Big Bang is winning with over 726,000 (52.5 percent), while Katy Perry closely chases behind with 656,700 votes (47.5 percent). The poll will be open until June 17 and voting is unlimited.
