Big Bang’s Daesung Takes Top Spot on Oricon’s Weekly Chart with ‘D-Lite’

Big Bang Daesung’s Japan mini album D-Lite topped Oricon’s weekly album chart.

D-Lite was released on October 29 in celebration of the holiday season and topped Oricon’s daily album chart on the day of the release before ranking number one on Oricon’s weekly album chart by selling 68,000 copies.

Daesung topped Oricon’s daily album chart with his first Japan original album D’slove in July but this is the first time he has topped Oricon’s weekly chart. D’slove ranked second on the weekly album chart.

This album topped Japan iTune’s Popular Music Top Album chart and its title song Look at me, GwiSoon! also took the top place on USEN’s J-pop request.

Look at me, GwiSoon! was written and composed by G-Dragon with its Japanese lyrics written by Kenichi Maeyamada.

The lyrics to the second track A Big Hit! were also written by Kenichi Maeyamada and the third track is the cover of Ada Wakiko’s Old Diary. The fourth track is the cover of 70’s Japanese singer Linda Yamamoto’s hit song Do ni mo Tomaranai.

Proving his ability as a soloist, Daesung will be meeting with the fans through his solo tour encore concerts. Daesung has gathered over 170,000 fans through his Japan solo arena tour D-Lite DLive 2014 in Japan ~D’slove~, performing 15 concerts in 8 cities around Japan and will be launching the encore concert in Tokyo Yoyogi National Gymnasium on January 31 and Feburary 1 and in Osaka’s Osaka-jo Hall on February 10 and 11.

Meanwhile, as a member of Big Bang, which is the first foreign artist to hold a Japan 5-dome tour for two years in a row, Daesung will be performing in the dome tour starting with Nagoya Dome on November 15 and 16.
