Yoo Yeon Seok Spills Reason Why He Chose ′The Informant′
Yoo Yeon Seok revealed his motivation behind choosing projects.
During the press preview for the film The Informant in Megabox, Dongdaemun on September 16, Yoo Yeon Seok said, “In each project, I wanted to encounter a character different from my previous character and experience a character that I’ve never experienced before.”
“Instead of acting out an extension of ‘Chil Bong’ from Reply 1994, I thought this was a great opportunity to show another side of me through character ‘Shim Min Ho.’ I thought this was definitely an opportunity for me to grow as an actor,” explained Yoo Yeon Seok.
He continued, “I wanted to work on a project that makes the audience think once more and give out a message. If such an opportunity is given to me, I believed that I could grow as an actor and that’s why I chose The Informant.”
Yoo Yeon Seok took the role of researcher named ‘Shim Min Ho’ in the film. In order to cure his daughter who suffers from an incurable disease, Shim Min Ho researches embryonic stem cell along with doctor Lee Jang Hwan but soon feels remorseful when doctor Lee manipulates his thesis paper and carries out unethical experiments and makes his way to Yoon Min Chul PD to reveal the truth.
The film will premiere on October 2.
