SHINee′s Jonghyun Says He Didn′t Have Close Friends as a Trainee
Bringing some of his past problems to the table, SHINee′s Jonghyun shared a bit about his life as a trainee.
On September 12′s broadcast of Jiangsu TV′s Strongest Group, Jonghyun shared about his difficult trainee life to debut as a singer.
On this day, MC Peng Yu asked SHINee, "Did you have a lot of difficult times during your trainee years?" and "I think you probably had a lot of living restrictions, like not being able to meet friends because of vocal practices and not being allowed to eat as much as you wanted."
Sharing that the difficult times as a trainee was a step into becoming a singer, Key replied, "I think we had fun in our own ways."
When MC Jeon Hyun Moo asked, "Wasn′t it hard not being able to date?" Jonghyun replied, "We had to give that up in order to become a singer. [During my trainee days] I let everything go."
After watching an old interview footage, Jonghyun said, "When I was a trainee, I didn′t have a single close friend. When school was over, I would go to the practice room and sing by myself for six hours before going home."
Meanwhile, Strongest Group is a Korean- and Chinese-produced variety program with f(x)′s Victoria, Super Junior-M′s Zhoumi, Jo Hye Ryeon, Jeon Hyun Moo, and Peng Yu as the MC.
