While most of the songs released recently have already been aiming toward summer and the hot, party-filled goodness it comes with, Big Bang’s first single Monster, from its recently-released special edition album Still Alive, captures the rainy, gloomy period wedged between spring and summer.

[Song Review] Big Bang Teaches You How to Tame Your ‘Monster’

As much as the album title Still Alive shows it’s an extension of Alive, of the multiple title songs of the album, Monster seems to expand upon track Blue.

Monster, which features the members’ booming like monsters with deeper voices and a denser piano melody, is the Jekyll to Blue’s Hyde.

The song starts off with unfamiliar, stumbling low whispers coming from all directions, but soon picks up to a full-on familiar Big Bang run, only to meet a sudden collapse at the end.

If you ever feel the need to tame your screaming inner monster on those not-so-springy summer days, let Big Bang take you on a ride with Monster.
