Inspired by Haruki Murakami’s writing, Yoon Jong Shin released a new song for the Monthly Project album.

The music video for Men Without Women was revealed on August 26, telling the story of a man, who refuses to pick up his phone, afraid that his ex-girlfriend will explain why she broke up with him.

Ahead of the music video release, Yoon Jong Shin tweeted, “After reading Murakami′s short story, Men Without Women, which will be released tomorrow, I was reminded of my shabby and bummed out self from 2000 to 2004, so I made a song of the same title. The music video was also created with the feeling of that night and that room.”

Just as Yoon Jong Shin revealed earlier, actor Jung Woo Sung appeared in the music video, as well as the singer himself, as the man unwilling to pick up his phone in the middle of the night.

The August Monthly Project carried out as a collaboration with Haruki Murakami’s newest short story collection. Yoon Jong Shin read the short story in advance, gathering inspiration and expressing it in a song. The cover image and lyrics also tie in with the short story.
