Jang Dong Gun has been showcasing an addictive way of speech in SBS’ A Gentleman’s Dignity.

The actor proved he had succeeded in adapting to his architect Kim Do Jin role in the first two episodes of the drama aired on May 26 and 27.

First it was his visuals shining in his comical role, next it was Kim Do Jin’s way of speech making issues. Kim Do Jin’s “Let’s say-,” used when he wants to change the subject or stop anyone else from speaking is close to becoming a catchphrase among the public.

In the aired episodes, Kim Do Jin told delinquent high school students, “Let’s say there will be no agreement,” and even answered Im Tae San’s (Kim Su Ro) offer to fill in for someone in his baseball team with a “Let’s say I like it.”

When he spoke with Seo Yi Su (Kim Ha Neul), he continued to say curtly, “Let’s say I won’t accept your apology, since it’s probably not heartfelt.”

This catchy way of speech comes from scriptwriter Kim Eun Sook, who is known to come up with dialogue that fits the characters perfectly.

She previously wrote the popular quotes, “Let’s go, baby” and “You’re right in here” from Lovers in Paris, and “Is this your best? Are you sure?” from Secret Garden.

A rep from Hwa&Dam Pictures, the production company for the drama, said, “Jang Dong Gun is showing a great passion toward his return to the small screen in 12 years. He’s working hard to make Kim Eun Sook’s dialogue his own. This effort will help perfect the Kim Do Jin character.”

A Gentleman’s Dignity is a romantic comedy about the four middle-aged men Jang Dong Gun, Kim Su Ro, Kim Min Jong and Lee Jong Hyuk.
