Girl’s Day to Take Volunteer Trip to Thailand
Girl’s Day will be making its way to Thailand for a volunteer activity.
Girl’s Day’s agency announced on August 14, “As the honorary ambassador of Plan Korea, an international child support group, Girl’s Day will be volunteering in Thailand on August 17 through 21. The Girl’s Day members will be participating in the campaign to register the birth of girls, taking an active part in the human rights activity for the girls.”
As the honorary ambassador of Plan Korea, Girl’s Day had taken a volunteer trip to Chiang Rai, Thailand in August 2013. Girl’s Day’s first solo concert that took place on July 13 also donated all proceeds to Plan Korea, in order to be used for Thailand girls’ birth registration campaign.
An affiliate of Plan Korea stated, “Girl’s Day volunteered in Chiang Rai, Thailand with Plan Korea last August. Having witnessed the young Thai girls who suffer from premature marriage and violence, Girl’s Day expressed its willingness to work with us again for this campaign, so we’re very happy.”
The affiliate added, “Girl’s Day will be meeting with four girls who live without having their birth registered and visit their families and school to take a step closer to their daily lives. Afterwards, the members will be participating in registering the girls’ birth.”
