The online game Diablo 3 is enjoying insane popularity internationally, but its alleged solicitation by some of the U-KISS members is drawing criticism on the group.

Since its release a few days ago, Diablo 3 has been a hot and extremely difficult item for folks to get their hands on. In the midst of this, the U-KISS members expressed numerous times they would like to receive a copy too.

On May 14, member Soo Hyun tweeted, “As soon as I get to Korea I’m going to buy a computer. For Diablo.” He then later wrote, “Is the limited edition difficult to purchase.? I’m here in New York… Diablo 3 limited edition ㅠㅠ.”

When he saw fellow member AJ had received a copy of the game from a fan he responded, “Hyoo… (sigh)” To this, a fan had wrote, “If I could, I would buy and give you a copy right away but I don’t have the time or money…”

However in the early hours of May 17, Soo Hyun tweeted, “Finally! Thank you!” and included a picture of him after having finally received a copy of the game from a fan.

U-KISS member AJ received a copy of the game even before Soo Hyun as he had earlier tweeted, “At 9 a.m. (when sales of the game were set to begin in Korea) I’ll be inside a plan en route to Korea. I gave up on [purchasing] off-line and am looking to buy it online but is there any way I can? Please let me know how I can buy it. I can purchase a copy, right?”

In the end, AJ received a copy of the game from a fan as he tweeted, “It must have been difficult for you to purchase this but thank you for not only getting it for myself but for the other members as well,” revealing the other members had received their own copies from fans.

Since then, U-KISS and its members have come under fire on allegations that it had solicited copies of the game from its fans on Twitter.

Netizens wrote on the matter saying, “They might as well have just outright asked their fans to get them a copy”, “At first I thought nothing of it but as the soliciting tweets became more frequent it was unpleasant to see” and “It’s not right for an idol star to abuse their popularity in such a manner.”
