Yang Dong Geun Confirmed to Star in ‘The Three Musketeers’

Yang Dong Geun has been confirmed to star in tvN’s upcoming drama The Three Musketeers.

Based on the novel of the same title written by Alexandre Dumas, The Three Musketeers will be re-produced as a historial drama, set in the Joseon dynasty and depicting the story of the country’s best sword fighters.

Yang Dong Geun will be taking the role of ‘Heo Seung Po,’ one of the lead characters in the drama.

‘Heo Seung Po’ is born to a prestigious and powerful family and is skilled in sword fighting on top of being equipped with a sense of humor and fashion. He is equivalent to the character named ‘Porthos’ in the original novel, and he will confront ‘Park Dal Hyang’ (Jung Yong Hwa) in the beginning but later come to share true friendship with him.

The Three Musketeers will be Yang Dong Geun’s first drama since he starred in OCN’s Hero in 2012, marking his return to the small screen in two years. It will also be the actor’s first time acting in a historical drama.

Yang Dong Geun stated, “I’m also anticipating a lot since it has been a while since I acted in a drama and this will be my first sageuk (historical drama). The content of the drama, along with the cast and staff members, have been working really well together, so I think it will lead to the production of a high quality project. I hope that many people will anticipate and watch the drama.”

The Three Musketeers is a 3-season drama with each season containing 12 episodes. It is set to air in August.
