After seeing the activities of fellow groups of the same debut year, Boyfriend shared its sentiments.

On June 9, Boyfriend helds its album release showcase for Obsession as AX Korea.

On this day, Boyfriend′s leader, Dong Hyun talked about B1A4, Block B, and other idol boy groups that debuted with Boyfriend in 2011 and the success these groups met.

"While promoting abroad, we watched a lot of music programs in Korea. We watched our debut colleagues and juniors getting number 1s and becoming successful."

"As we saw this happening, we thought, ′We must work harder,′ and ′If we don′t come out with a more perfect album, it′s not going to work,′" said Dong Hyun. "With this album, we wanted a more mature image that can pull off various genres while maintaining Boyfriend′s refreshing and cute image. More than anything, we want to get a number one on music programs."

"We′ll do our best to meet anticipation and have success."

On this day, Boyfriend broke its hiatus of one year and five months by revealing its mini album. Ths album has several tracks that just sucks in listeners.

The tracks include Alarm, the sub-title song for which a music video was filmed abroad. Alarm is a medium tempo R&B song about the longing for a past lover ringing repeatedly like an alarm.

The song Obsession is produced by Sweetune, who created songs for Kara and Infinite. With a strong hip-hop beat and a brass sound, Obsession is a song about a man who get hurts multiple times by a woman who will not accept his love.

The music video included an intense and poweful choreography with the use of LED chairs, creating a performance that filled the entire video with Boyfriend′s presence.

Meanwhile, Boyfriend debuted in 2011 with its single album Boyfriend. At the same of its debut, Boyfriend has continuously promoted abroad, creating its own global identity by appearing on Japan′s Oricon charts, as well as other music markets in Asia. The group has also crossed borders, holding fanmeetings in Puerto Rico, showcases in the US, and more.
