[Video] Duble Sidekick Says YG is Artist-Centered and JYP Focuses on Park Jin Young
As one of the hottest producers around, Duble Sidekick made an honest comparison between YG Entertainment and JYP Entertainment.
In an upcoming episode of Mnet’s Dirty Talk the MC panel talked about the three major groups that will lead the music industry in the next ten years. The groups included SM ‘s EXO, YG’s Winner, and JYP’s Got7.
Duble Sidekick made a comparison between YG Entertainment and JYP Entertainment saying, “If YG is artist-centered, giving wings to each singer’s skills, then JYP is just as he says, Park Jin Young-centered.”
“A male idol group’s success or defeat is a fight between the fandoms. Depending on the number of fans an idol has, the concert size, and even the number of CDs to produce is chosen.”
With this, Lee Sang Min asked Kim Tae Woo, who was a guest on the show and a singer previously under JYP, “JYP is the weakest when it comes to fandom management, right?”
As Kim Tae Woo laughed, a bit caught off guard, Lee Sang Min asked if Kim Tae Woo has ever disagreed with Park Jin Young’s musical opinions.
“Of course. As the rep, Park Jin Young advises his own colors and his own style of singing to the juniors. But if you do as he says, the results are pretty good. He’s someone who knows that much about the public.”
But Kim Tae Woo said that there is something Park Jin Young needs to put a rest to.
Talking about the ‘J-Y-P’ music mark in front of every song produced by him, Kim Tae Woo turned to the camera and said, “Hyung! I really think you need to stop that!”
The episode will air on May 15.
