Yoon Shi Yoon’s Agency Shares His Last Message Before Army Enlistment
Deciding to go to the Marines in secret, Yoon Shi Yoon said, “I don’t want to create a hassle for the other soldiers who are enlisting too.”
Yoon Shi Yoon enlisted in the Marines at the Pohang training center on April 28 at 1:50 PM (KST). Although much attention was being given for his upcoming enlistment, Yoon Shi Yoon told his agency staff members that he wanted to go quietly and asked them to keep it a secret.
Fulfilling his wishes, his agency respectfully rejected all offers to appear in variety programs and kept his enlistment a secret. Only agency staff accompanied him on the actual day of his enlistment.
Yoon Shi Yoon first expressed his wishes to enlist in the Marines in January. Even then, his agency tried to dissuade him from going to the Marines. Although he was a lot older than the other soldiers and the training sessions would be quite hard, Yoon Shi Yoon was adamant about going.
Taxi Entertainment said on April 29. “A lot of the staff members tried to persuade him out of it, but he was pretty much set on going. From the application to the final results, everything was processed very quickly.”
Yoon Shi Yoon’s enlistment was not that much different from the other soldiers. He thanked each agency staff member separately and quietly entered the training center.
One staff member said, “Before he went in, Yoon Shi Yoon said, ‘Thank you.’ He then said, ‘Can I hug you once?’ before doing so. It was quite emotional thinking about the strong friendship and the hardships we all went through together.”
Despite his rise to popularity through MBC’s High Kick Through the Roof and KBS’ Baker King Kim Tak Gu, Yoon Shi Yoon’s enlistment was quite simple. However, his consideration and loyalty for his fellow soldiers and his agency staff members stood out until the end.
