Wonder Girls to Make Its Official Japanese Debut in July
Come July, the Wonder Girls is going to say konnichiwa to Japan.
On May 9, Japan’s Oricon reported the Wonder Girls are currently in preparation to make its debut in Japan.
On July 25, Wonder Girls will release its first Japanese album, Nobody for Everybody, which will include the Japanese version of its hit single Nobody.
In its description of the group, Oricon said, “Wonder Girls’ Tell Me was viewed on YouTube over 100 million times and even caused a Tell Me syndrome. For the Wonder Girls who hit its peak in Korea, they decided to enter the American market rather than the Asian market and found success there, even entering the Billboard charts. The Wonder Girls’ success story even became a movie in America in 2008.”
Park Jin Young confirmed the Wonder Girls’ plans in Japan saying, “In Korea, the Wonder Girls are in a place where it can’t go any higher. We want to aim for a bigger goal now.”
The Wonder Girls expressed its excitement too over the plans saying, “We want to meet our fans in Japan as soon as possible. We will do our best to show an even better side of us.”
Though this marks the Wonder Girls’ official music debut, it has already been making itself known in Japan and recently even became models for Japanese makeup brand, Kowa.
