‘K-Pop Star’ Contestant Han Hee Jun Donates 10 Million Won to Sewol Tragedy
SBS ‘K-Pop Star’s Han Hee Jun has joined in on the continuous donations.
Han Hee Jun gained much attention after rising to the Top 6 in the recently concluded K-Pop Star season 3. He especially touched the hearts of many viewers byshowing his many efforts to let go of his American Idol title and meet eye-to-eye with the Korean audience.
In all of this, Han Hee Jun has moved the public once again. He has donated 10 million won to the families of the victims in the Sewol sinking accident, as well as canceled his April 19 fanmeeting to pay his respects to the victims.
Han Hee Jun’s US agency spoke with Newsen on April 23, saying, “Han Hee Jun donated 10 million won to the families of victims.”
“The donation is a collection of the money from Han Hee Jun’s appearance fees and profits from events. More than being used for rescue items, he hopes that the donation will be used to console the hearts of the family members.”
As he has not even made his official debut in Korea, people are wondering what his reasons are for making this donation.
‘”Han Hee Jun wanted to receive love from Korea, which is why he went there. And so many people gave him a lot of love. But a tragedy occurred in the country that gave him so much love. Han Hee Jun said it doesn’t feel right to sit still in a situation like this, and decided to donate. To be honest, as he hasn’t met much success as a singer yet, he doesn’t have a lot of financial leeway, but his heart was set on donating that he personally prepared the donation.”
Meanwhile, Han Hee Jun is currently in the US to carry on schedules. He will be returning to Korea later on to official begin preparing to debut as a singer. On any plans to perform in Korea, the rep replied, “His desires to be acting in Korea are strong, but right now is the time to grieve together. We will talk about his position another time.”
