TVXQ’s New Japanese Album Tops Oricon
TVXQ is winning hearts of women not only in Korea, but around the world, including, of course, Japan.
The duo broke the record for most albums ever sold on the day of its release, and came in first on the September 28 Oricon daily Album Chart, with over 105,484 albums sold in just a day.
The great divide between TVXQ’s album sales and those of other artists heightened the anticipation of where the group will rank on the Oricon Weekly Chart. The album was even sold out in most major record shops in Japan, causing fans to ask for more copies to be printed.
To celebrate TVXQ’s new album, a ‘TVXQ Train’ has been running since September 17 on Japan’s JR Yamanote Line, which goes through Tokyo’s main areas, and a large poster of TVXQ has been set up in Shinjuku Station Square.
TVXQ plans to start promotions for its new album, Tone on October 1, with Fuji TV’s Music Fair and will continue on October 2 with NHK Music Japan and NTV Music Lovers, and will also appear on the October 3 episode of Fuji TV’s SMAP x SMAP.
