Jang Bum June Reveals How Busker Busker’s Songs Were Born

In early spring, the band released a studio album full of songs penned by the members (namely Jang Bum June) themselves, and became the biggest rookie of the year by selling more than 50,000 copies of its album in just three weeks after its release.

Despite the big numbers proving the band’s great success, Jang Bum June stayed modest, saying, “Sometimes I wonder how I was able to come up with songs like this. Music is music. Anyone can make music.”

He then revealed, “A lot of good songs come to me soon after I’ve separated with my girlfriend,” and said that At the Entrance to the Alley was a single that came from his actual experiences.

He also revealed how Cherry Blossom Ending was born.

“I went to a cherry blossom festival with my friends when I didn’t have a girlfriend, and the song came to me while I was playing the guitar on the street there. It’s a song that talks of how I want the sad feeling that comes to me when I see happy couples to end.”

Jang Bum June then showed off his talent by singing an impromptu song when asked what he felt while driving through a cherry blossom filled street in a taxi.
